Step 1: Add up to 5 partners
The following four categories help you pinpoint exactly where your partners stand in the matrix. Remember, the main goal here is to boost engagement with the right partners, ensuring your resources and efforts are directed where they’ll deliver the best returns.
The matrix explained:
Investment ready: Partners with high engagement and a high strategic fit. These are your superstar partners where you should focus your investment. You've got good engagement and they're a good strategic fit. Let’s go!
Good relations: Partners with high engagement but low strategic fit. These partners have great engagement but aren't necessarily a great strategic fit. It’s worth acknowledging the good relationship, but be cautious about how much time and money you spend here as you might not get the best return. Be careful not to over-support just because they are “nice people”.
Aligned strategically: Partners with low engagement but a high strategic fit. These partners are a good fit but have lower engagement. They are generally harder to work with, but it's worthwhile persisting because there’s a valuable prize at the end.
Tread carefully: Partners with low engagement and low strategic fit. These partners have low engagement and a low strategic fit. You may want to keep a close eye on them but not invest any significant time. Generally, you won’t want to invest your marketing funds or resources into them.
